Most of my research involves finding ways to reduce the number of hospital-acquired infections caused by highly resistant pathogens. One way is the judicious use of antimicrobials. While at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, I was involved in establishing an antimicrobial stewardship program at one of the Emory-affiliated hospitals. I hope to improve antimicrobial use here by establishing interactive educational interventions. I am also interested in improving healthcare delivery, especially the administration of surgical antimicrobial prophylaxis. I am also currently working on finding more effective methods of ensuring proper delivery of antimicrobial prophylaxis for patients undergoing surgery.
