Keywords: medical informatics, outcomes assessment, quality control

My general research interests focus on the role of statistics and medical informatics in the analysis of experimental and clinical laboratory data. My recent research activity has concentrated on the statistical aspects of laboratory quality control. I have defined a new set of outcome measures that more accurately reflect the performance of quality control strategies in the modern clinical laboratory. Using these outcome measures to evaluate alternative quality control strategies is providing new insight into the key factors that influence the quality control process.
